This temple is situated in Aadhi Shankara Nagar on the way to Thenambaakkam from the Punniyakkotteeswarar temple. After receiving the name Devaraajan from Punniyakkotteswarar Maha Vishnu established a linga and worshipped the deity. This Shivaa is called as Dhaevaraajaeswarar. This Linga is a big Linga with round Aavudaiyar. This is one of the temples worshipped by Vedhas in Kanchipuram. Therefore Shiva is called as Vedhavaneeswarar.
