The Maligajunaeswarar temple was installed and worshipped by Arjuna of the Pandavas amidst jasmine forests. This temple is found in a place called malligai thottam beside the Dhaamal war street. The Linga has a round Aavudaiyar but now the Aavudaiyar cannot be seen.
