The panamaeeswarar temple is found near the thiruvalluvar street. The snake Vaasuki worshipped this linga with Maanikam stones. Since Vaasuki released Poison during the churn of the Paarkadal which made shivaa consume it Vasuki worshipped this linga to attain relief from the act she had performed. Vasuki offered Ruby to Lord Shiva. Theertham is Anandha Theertham.
