UTTRU KETTA MUKTHEESWARAR - KANCHIPURAM

This temple is located in Thiru Mettrali Street. Samandhar temple is located opposite to this temple. Puraanas say that Samandhar sang songs from the place where his temple is found. Shivaa lent his ears to these songs without showing his full form. He was delighted to hear those songs. So this Shivaa was called Uttru Ketta Muktheeswarar (Muktheeswarar who has overheard). The Linga has a round Aavudaiyar. This temple is a brick temple.
