This temple is situated in the western end of Gandhi Road. The legal cases were not taken to the king’s court , instead brought to this temple. Shivaa of this temple solves all the problems placed in front of him. Still people approach the Vazhakarutheeswarar with cases to solve their problems. The linga worshipped by Sage Paraasarar is known as Paraasaraeswarar. This linga is placed inside the Vazhukkaruththeeswarar temple. Sage Paraasarar worshipped this Shivaa to permit him to kill the Asuraas who killed his father. Lord Shivaa fulfilled his wish. This story is found in Kaanchi Puraanam.
