The Vegavadheeswarar temple is situated in CSM thoppu. It is located in the southern banks of the river Vegavathy. This linga was worshipped by Saraswathy. When Sarawathy took up the form of vegavathy river to stop the Brahmas Thava she was stopped and sent back by Vilakkoli Perumaal with the help of the light given by Aadhi Padheaswarar as Yadhothkaari perumaal stopped the force of the river by his sayana posture. On her retreat she worshipped this linga to come away from the sin of trying to prevent brahmas Thava. This temple is a brick temple.
