This temple is found in Kaamaraaja Street on the orthern banks of Manjal Neer Kaalvaai. The Linga is a Suyambhu Linga. The Linga has a very big Baana which is 6ft tall and Large in size with a Large Aavudaiyar. Many Sidhdhars have worshipped this linga and thereby called Sidhdheeswarar. Kaamaakshi Devi covered herself with Manjal kaappu. The river in which she bathed was called Manjal Neer Nadhi. After her snaan she came to the northern bank of the river and prayed to Shivaa. Shivaa appeared before her in the form of a large linga which brought great happiness in her heart. Therefore Sidhdheeswarar was also known as Manjal Neer Kooththar.
